presents:

Going All In: Levers for Climate Action
Thursday, September 30, 2021, 12 p.m. HST, via Zoom
Free and open to the public

Please join us for a live conversation on the narrowing (but still open) window of opportunity to mitigate the worst effects of climate change.
The latest report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) confirms that we still have a chance to stave off the most catastrophic effects of global warming—if we take bold and coordinated action now. But how do local and state actors fit into the global equation? As Hawai‘i’s delegation prepares for the upcoming UN climate summit, COP26, our guests will discuss what steps Hawai‘i can take to curtail emissions and also to prepare for storms, sea level rise, and weather changes already locked into the climate system.
Guests include: Governor Ige, who has set some of the most ambitious climate goals in the country, and by Kevin Chang, co-director of the nonprofit KUA, which advances community-based solutions to Hawai‘i’s environmental problems. Our moderator is Victoria Keener, Senior Research Fellow at the East-West Center.
